Mark Gibson in the Taproom!

  • 208 Main Street Alba, MO, 64830 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Mark Gibson is a singer/songwriter from Tulsa, OK. Over the years, he's been in solo and band projects that contained a wide array of sounds and influences. After the release of his first solo album, "Beautifully Deconstructed," (2012) which still contained influences of bands like U2 and Coldplay, he decided it was time to define his own sound. Gibson's love for music began with the guitar, so it seemed like the right place to start. He quickly realized that when he just played for himself at home, he naturally played bluesy and soul-tinged riffs. He decided to explore those sounds further, and what he discovered was a more rhythmic and soulful approach to playing and songwriting. When he played and sang in that manner, it felt like he was coming home. In 2016, Gibson released his sophomore album Blue Eyed Soul, and it represented four years of writing and playing the type of music that he loved. Throughout 2017 he recorded a few live shows at Soul City (Tulsa) and released a full-length live album Live From Soul City on February 3rd, 2018. The album showcased a seven piece band of wonderful Tulsa and Oklahoma City musicians. It's raw and emotive; everything you'd expect from a soul band. Gibson lived in Cincinnati

from 2017-2019, which got him out of his comfort zone. He spent those years making new fans in Ohio, and touring extensively. He was wildly inspired by his travels, and recorded countless voice memos of song ideas while on the road. Those ideas would become the songs for his 3rd solo album, “Hymnals From the Plains.” Released on November 12th, 2021, the album is a beautiful blend of soul, blues, gospel, and rock n roll. The album’s lyrics deal with love, loss, and the trials and tribulations of living outside of the lines. It’s a powerful and cinematic take on Gibson’s life. Gibson currently resides in Tulsa, OK, and is writing songs for his 4th studio album. His songs have been featured on NPR and numerous college radio stations. His song "Hymn for America (Change)" was a 2022 runner-up in the International Songwriting Competition for "Social Causes."

Mark Gibson Live

More info about Mark Gibson:

Singer/songwriter, Mark Gibson, has been a professional musician for 17 years. He's been home based out of Tulsa, OK, Austin, TX, and Cincinnati, OH. He currently resides in Tulsa. His music is soul-tinged and bluesy, and it seeks the right balance between rawness and technical refinement. He’s released numerous albums throughout his career. “Live From Soul City” (2018), beautifully captures Gibson’s live shows. He's a dynamic performer with a wonderful band that can glide between being smooth and unassuming, to creating attention grabbing, emotional crescendos. When he performs solo, he records and loops acoustic and electric guitar in real-time, and then sings over the top. It makes for a more exciting and complex performance than the typical solo performance. His new studio album, "Hymnals From the Plains," (Nov 2021) is now available. His original material has been featured on NPR 89.5, and numerous college radio stations.

Juggernaut- Foreign Export Coffee Stout Release

Join us as we release one of our early brewed styles from the garage days. This collaboration foreign stout has a taste of malt sweetness, caramel, roasted grains, notes of chocolate and licorice. Medium bodied brew has little to no hop flavor, a dry finish, and slight roasted bitterness. We then aged this stout on a special blend of Brazil,Columbian and Ethiopian coffee beans roasted by our friends of Cottage Small Coffee Roasters. This special style stout started back with the 19th century, being developed in the year 1801 by Guiness. In order to withstand the long trip from Ireland, the beer was brewed bigger with extra hops and more alcohol, which serve as natural preservatives. The beer later became known as the Foreign Extra Stout.

Whisky Outlaws Acoustic Set

Since their inception in 2019, Whisky Outlaws have quickly earned a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the 4 States area. Despite the global pandemic, 2021 proved to be a breakout year for Whisky Outlaws. Touring extensively through Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma, Whisky Outlaws logged over 100 shows while performing at venues like Georges’s Majestic Lounge and Railyard Live. They have shared the stage with such acts as Trey Lewis, Kevin Galloway of Uncle Lucius, Tanner Usrey, Vincent Neil Emmerson, and Ragland. Whisky Outlaws have released three singles to date - “Hollow Man'' and “One More Round” in 2021 and “Chainsmokin’” in the summer of 2022.

Founding members of Whisky Outlaws, Thaddaeus Morton and Corey Reagin, hail from opposite sides of the country, Montana and Georgia respectively. Both cite that playing in church bands during their formative years as a major influence, lending to a common perspective of music. After relocating to Joplin within 6 months of each other, a chance meeting in a local music store proved there was instant musical chemistry between the two, from which they have not looked back. Having crafted a unique sound that lands somewhere between Nashville and Austin, Georgia and Montana, Whisky Outlaws couple twangy hooks and b-bender riffs with conversational lyrics with a penchant for narrative. Whisky Outlaws draw inspiration from artists such as Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Randy Rogers band, and Turnpike Troubadours
